Bargaining Update #7: Unifor Targets Ford in Auto Talks 2023
Greetings Unifor members,
Unifor has announced that Ford has been selected as the union’s target company in Auto Talks 2023.
The union made the announcement at a news conference livestreamed on autotalks.ca. Unifor selected Ford as the target because the union believes that it is in the best position to reach an agreement with Ford that delivers on the needs of Unifor members and set a strong pattern for Canada’s auto industry. A collective agreement with Ford, once reached and ratified, will set the pattern for contract terms and conditions for members at General Motors and Stellantis.
Unifor’s bargaining teams are already hard at work and will continue to meet with the company over the coming weeks to reach a tentative settlement before the contract expires at 11:59 p.m. on Monday September 18.
Members should expect additional bargaining updates in advance of the deadline so please continue to check autotalks.ca regularly.
Members are encouraged to direct any questions related to D3 negotiations to [email protected].
In solidarity,
Lana Payne, National President
John D’Agnolo, Ford Master Bargaining Chair
Jason Gale, GM Master Bargaining Chair
James Stewart, Stellantis Master Bargaining Chair
